Description

Published by the Crime Research Centre, University of Western Australia Women are overwhelmingly more likely to be imprisoned for social security offences than for any other category of offence committed by women. This book documents the particular experiences of women which bring them to the offending situation. On balance, the view is supported that "opportunity theory" is relevant, though primarily in a context where there is felt by the woman offender to be an urgent need in the context of her family responsibilities.
