Author Biography

Louise Park is one of Australia's leading children's authors, publishers, and educational consultants. She has had over 20 years of experience in teaching, publishing, seminar presenting, and writing both fiction and nonfiction. Her new tween fantasy adventure series, Star Girl, is ready to take girls' reading to a whole new dimension. Melanie has created illustration for all sorts of things, including advertising, video games, jigsaw puzzles, kid's lunchboxes, T-shirts, books, magazines, and websites. When she's not drawing, she can usually be found reading, cooking, eating, or napping. Melanie is also a pretty good swimmer. Starting her career in magazine photography, Kyla earned a degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She went on to work as an art director at the reputable Melbourne advertising agency Clemenger BBDO, where she created award-winning print, television, and online campaigns, plus branding. Kyla's unique creative style and bent for comedy led her to create the very successful greeting card line "Flirt" and "Smirk," which in turn led to many other entrepreneurial ventures including books, television, and licensing and a little company called Kyla May Productions.
