A thought provoking dissertation on the US Auto industry's response to
California attempting to legislate non polluting transportation. Although the
film makers are on occasion biassed, they attempt to dispel the “myths”
perpetuated by Auto Makers to dissuade the general public from demanding
pollution free auto transportation. A well paced and informative documentary
which successfully avoids the trap of appearing a platform for conspiracy
theorists. A pity that the film itself failled to capture the
public's attention, much like the Electric Vehicles (EVs) short lived
appearance on California's roads.
Whether or not you are a “Greenie”, or just an interested spectator, the
story plays out intriguingly. You certainly do not have to be either a fervent
environmentalist or technically inclined to grasp the key points that the film
makers put across. Well narrated by Martin Sheen, with appearances by US
celebrities.
