This book starts with a plane crash and tells the story of a brave and strong-willed young woman who proves herself again and again. Sarah is separated from her family when, in 1939, she is evacuated to Australia at the beginning of World War II. She does not return to Glasgow again until her teenage years when she starts University in order to take charge of her life and find adventure. Eventually, she goes back to Australia as a co-pilot and visits her old life to settle the past, learn to survive love and decide what she wants out of life.
Kriss Macca is a retired, visually impaired writer, suffering from Macular Disease. She was born and lived in Glasgow. Eventually, she migrated to Australia with her husband and sons in the seventies, having worked in various jobs to help pay the mortgage. Finally, she went to university to study Social Welfare. The Alcohol and Drug foundation of Australia employed her until she retired. As a window suffering the onset of Macular Disease, she returned to Glasgow where she went to Motherwell College to learn touch-typing and how to navigate her way around a computer. Since then she has become a prolific writer of novels in which her heroines enjoy life's challenges.
