Author Biography:

Daniel Weissbort (b. 1935) is poet, translator and editor of the influential 'Modern Poetry in Translation'. His most recent collection of poems was 'Nietzsche's Attache Case' (1993); he has translated several modern Russian poets. He edited for Anvil the controversial anthology of post-war poets of Central and Eastern Europe, 'The Poetry of Survival' (1991).
