"Over-hyped, typical Ubisoft release"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

It's definitely NOT a bad game, but it is nowhere near as good as the bought out reviewers said it would be. The multiplayer is fun but flawed, the free roam option only let's you play with up to 8 other players who all by default have safemode on so you can't fight each other, you can't hack the players in free roam either… the hacking is gimmicky, pressing square button is all there is to it oh and solving a pipe puzzle on the odd occasion in story mode.

The graphics are a plus though, but I still don't consider them true next-gen.

If you're looking for game of the year you have some more waiting to do, this is not even close.

It seems like everyone's jumping on the hate train on this game. But nonetheless you can't say this game isn't fun. Hacking and shooting is such a nice blend it makes you prepare the ways you can eliminate your enemies. Driving is pretty arcady but I actually like it that way because it's easier to drive and it feels pretty bad ass jumping on top of a building and ditching all the cops chasing after you. Graphics are average and enemies AI is pretty bad. but IMO this is the best game so far in next gen and I recommend buying this game if your craving for a stealthy open world game

"Very good"
4 stars"

Great game, very enjoyable for people who like other Ubisoft titles such as Assassins Creed. Storyline is entertaining, graphics are good aswell but only downside would be the much anticipated ‘hacking’ aspects of the game – where pressing a single button is all that is nessesary – could be done a bit better. All round though it is very entertaining and worth the purchase.

"The Hacker's Playground"

Watch Dogs suffered from over-hyping and under-delivering, at least in comparison with the E3 demo. However, once you overlook these initial flaws, you uncover an open world with lots of new ‘electronic’ toys and abilities, with an interesting story and some occasionally memorable characters. Most of the negative aspects of the game are the usual suspects we have grown to except in the ‘worn-out’ open-world genre.

Well, from the day they first announced this game, till the day the released it – I was wired like not following the recommended scoops for my pre-workout. I don’t know why some were disappointed, but this game is definitely worth an award. Next-gen on this is pretty darn good. Simply-sophisticatedly beautiful. Coming from a person who was an avid pc gamer – and pc fanboy who is always a critic about graphics – this game played on the PS4 is virtually flawless. The UI is great and the core mechanics are amazing, quite familiar actually (if you've ever played any of the new AC games like AC:BF then you'll know what I mean) All in all, game plays very smoothly on the PS4, and can get you playing for hours on end.

"Worth Buying"

The reviews for the game are a little off, since it has become fashionable to hate the game, and reviewers can't help but jump on the bandwagon. This is partly Ubisoft's fault, since the initial reveal of the game promised graphical standards that aren't reached even on the PC port. Having said that, while the original reveal looked breathtaking, I'm not sure it would be that playable, since what looks good as a movie often doesn't function well as part of a game.

Watch Dogs is a good open world game with a massive amount of stuff to do. It can be played as a GTA clone, and there is a strong temptation to do so, but finding new ways to use combinations of the hacking system to take out enemies is a lot of fun, and I'm still finding new ways to do it. In particular, it allows better use of ambush tactics rather than direct assault (trying to set up an elaborate ambush for a criminal convoy is a lot of gun, and tests your knowledge of the map layout).

I've personally encountered no technical problems with the game, and it appears to me to be very polished. But, as always, YMMV.

It's clearly the best game on the PS4 right now, and is likely to retain that title until Destiny comes out. Recommended.

Stunning graphics with amazing game play with a storyline that will keep you playing for a very long time. A masterpiece from Ubisoft indeed.

"Dont!"

This is one of the worst games ive ever played, and ive played alot of games. The driving physics are terrible, the crash physics are basic, the story is bland, the hacking puzzles are tedious, the combat is punishing when you arent behing cover, the sound is out of balance at times, there are alot of bugs, I could go on for a while.

It even cant get the checkpoints right, if you have to start the checkpoint again (which is alot), the dialogue repeats. It also has repeditive radio statements which repeat throughout the game and the street conversations sometimes repeat every 5 seconds!

You get the feeling that this game was produced simply to make ubisoft more money since all the extra content in the game is thin and has no soul. It all depends on the player of course but if I had to make one recommedation, never go near this game, you will be better off for it.

"Overhyped Letdown"

I don't see myself finishing this game. Played it twice and gave up and quit on it both times. Sure it's not bad for a first attempt at an open world game, but it is far from a great game, and far from a next gen game. When I bought this game, I was expecting a game, kind of like the game “Syndicate” mixed with “GTA”.

The upsides: You can hack a lot of things in the world which can be used to your advantage. The people all have a profile that makes them slightly more interesting than generic NPC's. The AI are pretty decent for the most part. The multiplayer modes are quite fun.

And now for the downsides: A lot of basic visual effects are either bad or missing, such as some shadows, reflections, etc. No way to shoot your weapon while in a vehicle, which makes driving takedowns a nightmare. Considering that I played GTA V on the Xbox 360, It is quite bad that GTA V's graphics and animations are far better looking and more realistic than Watch dogs. Cars in the game are very arcadey and unrealistic to drive.

I don't really know how to sum this game up for you. I found it highly frustrating at times and as I said before, gave up on it each time I played it. The multiplayer is a lot of fun, but really isn't enough to redeem this game. I'd say give it a rental, you might like it, you might not.

Game at first looks alright but then you get the missions when you have to drive the car and that just kills it. The game is not worth buying.

"Absolutely awesome!!!!"
5 stars"

This has to one of the best games I've ever played. It has an awesome story (hope they do make the movie their planning), love the action and the fact you can do things via stealth and deception. Everyone compares it to GTA, well I can't do that because I've never played it. So guess what, ignorance really is bliss!!!

"Hacking good fun!"
4 stars"

Watch Dogs has managed to pick up quite a few negative reviews, but for the life of me I cannot understand why! It's an incredibly fun game to play with a huge open world with plenty to do outside of the main story missions. The game play is slick and fun and graphics and weather effects are simply breathtaking at times. The only real let down possibly could be a slightly bumbling story. You won't get better value for money in the current market, in terms of content, than this so don't hesitate to pick it up and give it a go. Just to qualify my comments I'm going to say that I've put in at least 40–50 hours into this title and still going!

"Over Hyped but still Ok"

Watch_Dogs certainly suffered from the massive Hype Train rolling through town thanks to Ubisoft flexing its considerable advertising muscle. But after getting through most of what it has to offer there is an ok little game here. With some decent gameplay & funny little moments. The cover based shoot is good, the AI is fine and using the magic-wand cell phone gives you a lot of options. Its a game for people who like open world adventures but aren't looking for something as massive as GTA5 was. There is quite a bit of stuff to do in Chicago but it won't take up your whole year.
