Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector's Edition previews

WAR is awesome at PVP. PVE is the same in all MMOs, although WAR has a few twists to make them more interesting such as public quests.

WAR is very social, open groups allow players to jump into a group when your friends aren't on and make new friends easily! Realm vs Realm battles unifies players into factions and makes players help each other out much more.

For example, last night we had a running battle with about 50–75 on each side fighting for 4 battle objectives and 2 keeps. Siege weapons blasting away, NPC's pitching in to help, people healing and aiding allies, tactical retreats… nothing NOTHING in any other MMO comes near to this.

Most fun I've had in a game since UO. There's really never a dull moment. Levelling is more interesting, with RvR/PvP giving experience as well as the usual PvE/Questing/In­stances (Public Quests rule!). There're 12 Scenarios(Bat­tlegrounds) in-game at release, already 3× as many as WoWs. More intuitive and interesting too. There's just.. so much to see and do. Oceanic Based servers are wicked, I'm pinging at 50ms, a 500% decrease from WoW.

Graphics in many areas are truly awe-inspiring. E.g seeing the Phoenix Gate for the first time.. it's just colossal.. Animations need some work, the feedback could be a lot better at present. Something for Mythic to work on.

Highly recommended, all-in-all.

great game so far for what i have seen. Although, i am a little annoyed the open beta doesnt start until sept 7th, which is rediculous considering the full version is out on the 19th of sept! Not really worth the $30 you pay extra on top of the collectors edition. I was lucky i got some closed beta access.

Graphics are weak. Animations are sloppy. Combat interaction is barely noticable.

WoW PVE > WAR PVE.
