ABBA's sixth studio album was their first in two years after taking a year off to concentrate on promotion in America, writing new material and family matters preoccupied the group: Frida and Benny married in 1978, towards end of that year Agnetha and Bjorn divorced. While these changes didn't affect them initially it would later.
As disco was reaching fever pitch, thanks largely to success of Bee Gees “Saturday Night Fever”, it was indubitable they would follow suit with the first taster of what was to come discofied “Summer Night City” single featured as a ‘bonus track’ here which reached New Zealand top 40.
Benny's new love affair with Yamaha GX-1 synthesizer would dominate most of the album tracks. Accompanied by Bjorn's more mature adult themed songwriting such as disco tracks “As Good As New” and “If It Wasn't For the Nights”, rocker “Kisses Of Fire” and mid-tempo “Lovers (Live A Little Long)”. It demonstrated the group's versatility to adept to a new musical genre.
Ballad “Chiquitita” was UNICEF fundraiser for year of the child. The single became their last New Zealand number 1.
Other stand-out tracks include Bjorn lead rocker top 30 New Zealand single “Does Your Mother Know-”, disco “Angeleyes” and “Voulez-Vous”, mid-tempo “The King Has Lost His Crown”, ballad “I Have A Dream” (performed live during 1979 world tour) and bonus track released as single entering New Zealand top 20, “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!”.
