Description

A teenager living in an over surveillance bureaucratically burdened society soon learns that his visionary mind is both an asset, and a threat, to an over-centralized government. Chelan County, Washington, was once a quiet place to live with cities nestled among fruit orchards along the Columbia River. Now, in the year 2027, things have drastically changed. Small cities and schools have been combined into regional districts. Traditional modes of transportation have changed due to technological breakthroughs and advances with Tesla Hover Cars and Hover Scooters. Houses made of wood, brick, or cement, no longer exist. Neither do traditional business structures. What was once a free marital right between husband and wife, is now scheduled and monitored through. Like it or not, everyone can be seen, whether their indoors or outdoors. The Federal Government enforces educational curriculum designed to ultimately enslave the young minds of society. Humans are gradually being replaced by Artificial Intelligence, Robotics. Soon, citizens will be monitored everywhere they go, whether they know it or not. Even worse, people will soon be unable to freely use their imaginations.Damien Leigh, an intelligent fourteen year old boy with a mental gift he mastered through daily visualization, soon finds himself in a world of deception. What's more, Damien becomes a valuable asset to some, and a threat to others. Damien and his friends R.J., Rachel, and ultimately, Yin Li, are all determined to break free from the pressures at home, and school. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, yet tragically dominated once Federal practices violate what's left of civil rights. The only place to be mentally free, is Virtual, a growing underground society that one only experiences if invited. Virtual, a place where ones thoughts and desires are projected onto a screen in front of them. One must be mindful of their thoughts while in Virtual, as those with evil intentions get removed indefinitely. Those with good intentions may return with a guest. For Damien, his mental abilities far exceed expectations, a secret he must keep from his parents. The rules of the political game have changed, yet one boy may tip the scales of justice-- unless a rogue agent finds him first.
