Description

Excerpt from Unitarianism Defended: A Series of Lectures by Three Protestant Dissenting Ministers of Liverpool, in Reply to a Course of Lectures, Entitled "Unitarianism Confuted," by Thirteen Clergymen of the Church of England II. The Unitarian Creed is described by our re verend opponents as a mere code g unbelief, (p. Xiv.) it being the policy of the thirteen only to pay no regard to our most solemn assertion of our faith in Christianity, as God's full and perfect re velation to man, but also to assume to themselves the functions of infallible judges of what is Christianity, and what is not and so, again to return upon them their own language, to deify their own fallible (p. X11.) interpretations and inferences. Yet they can impose upon the simplicity of the world, by charging others with the pride of reason. Infallible them selves, to differ from their infallibility can of course be nothing else than the pride of reason.
