Description

Long ago and far to the east, beyond Baghdad and Calicut, beyond even Malacca and Peking, lay the fabulous isles, unknown to the great cartographers, where no vessel from the Christian world had ever arrived. This is the story of those early explorers and their journeys to the lands that no white man had ever visited. Their reward -- spices.

Author Biography:

Antonio Deane lives in Beunos Aires and has written the standard text on Nelson's flagship HMS Agamemnon at War 1781-1809. He is a descendent of Charles II's favourite naval architect, Sir Anthony Deane.
