Description

Tales of espionage have always fascinated military history enthusiasts. During World War II, spies were playing for the highest stakes of all time. Military historian, William Breuer, has collected information from personal interviews, official archives, declassified documents, books, articles, and magazines to expose over 75 little-known stories of intrigue, including clandestine manoeuvres, sabotage, spying, plots, propaganda, bribery, code-breaking, kidnappings and other bizarre plots from the years leading up to and through WWII. Told in a vivid, fast-paced and dramatic style, this glimpse of the inside workings of spies and saboteurs on both sides of the war provides a new understanding of the stakes involved - and the life-and-death chances these daring few took in a bitter struggle.

Author Biography:

WILLIAM B. BREUER is the critically acclaimed author of twenty-six military history books, including Feuding Allies; Vendetta!: Castro and the Kennedy Brothers; Unexplained Mysteries of World War II; and Shadow Warriors: The Covert War in Korea. Ten of his books have been main selections of the Military Book Club, including The Great Raid on Cabanatuan and MacArthur's Undercover War.
