Description

A free verse narrative poetic tale of the real events that took place during the poet's visit to the ancient ruin city of Umm Al-Jamal. The sexual violation attempt that is described in the poem led to the assailant's identification and confession along with his subsequent incarceration for at least one year in the municipal jail of Mafraq, Jordan. In her poetic narrative, the poet expresses her views and emotions concerning the events, while also reflecting on the issues of relevance more generally from the perspective of women's and human rights.
