"A book you just can't put down"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Much more romance in the book than the movie, although the movie does a good job. I understand how many people who have read the books first are disapointed with the lack of romance in the movie. I don't think I have read a book with such romance in a very long time. I love everything about this book, I'm sure that every girl that has read this book is hoping for their very own Edward someday. I actually couldnt put the book down, it was an addition to my hand for two days untill I finished it, and New Moon took its place in my hands. I GARAUNTEE you will love this book.

"Awful"
1 stars"

Wait a minute… Weren't vampires supposed to be menacing? Don't be fooled, this is a terrible teen fiction about two college students in love, with no thrills, dull characters, and a meagre plot. Perhaps this is one that shouldn't be allowed outside during the day.

Description

About three things I was absolutely positive:
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him-and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be-that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

“I’D NEVER GIVEN MUCH THOUGHT TO HOW I WOULD DIE- I’d had reason enough in the last few months -but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this. . . . Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of something else, someone I loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something.”

When Isabella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret.

What Bella doesn’t realize is the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself and those around her at risk. And, it might be too late to turn back. . . .

Deeply seductive and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight will have readers riveted right until the very last page is turned.

Review

"Sun-loving Bella meets her demon lover in a vampire tale strongly reminiscent of Robin McKinley's Sunshine. When Bella moves to rainy Forks, Wash., to live with her father, she just wants to fit in without drawing any attention. Unfortunately, she's drawn the eye of aloof, gorgeous and wealthy classmate Edward. His behavior toward Bella wavers wildly between apparent distaste and seductive flirtation. Bella learns Edward's appalling (and appealing) secret: He and his family are vampires. Though Edward nobly warns Bella away, she ignores the human boys who court her and chooses her vampiric suitor. An all-vampire baseball game in a late-night thunderstorm-an amusing gothic take on American family togetherness that balances some of the tale's romantic excesses-draws Bella and her loved ones into terrible danger. This is far from perfect: Edward's portrayal as monstrous tragic hero is overly Byronic, and Bella's appeal is based on magic rather than character. Nonetheless, the portrayal of dangerous lovers hits the spot; fans of dark romance will find it hard to resist." (Fantasy. YA) Kirkus Reviews
