"A great yet glitchy city builder"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

If you are into management games, this is a great game, you get to create a stable economy, keep your citizens happy, attract tourists, and stop any uprisings along with keeping the cold war superpowers at bay. There are a number of techincal glitches that can cause game crashes, menu freezes and when your island gets big enough some saved games are unrecoverable.
If you can get past these problems there is alot of fun to be had being El Presidente.

"Addictive altho weak on graphics"

Tropico 3 is a fun game building up a tropical island how you like it while having to deal with coups and corruption, little poor on graphics and building options but its campaign missions are some what challenging giving it good playing value. I hope there is a follow up again with a few fixes it could be as big as sim city was

Description

Tropico 3 is being developed by the top development team, Haemimont Games - also known for Imperium Romanum and GRAND AGES: ROME.

All three titles are published by Kalypso Media. The storyline of Tropico 3 follows-up the first Tropico of the series.

Player will again be able to play the role of 'El Presidente' taking over the control of a tropical island. You decide whether you want to use your army to secure your power base in the best traditions of corrupt, unscrupulous tyrants everywhere, or alternatively to lead your people to prosperity in your role as generous elder statesman.

Danger lurks on every corner. There are militant rebels planning a Coup d'etat for a communistic Junta, while in the background there are two lurking superpowers, the USA and the Soviet Union, who would perhaps prefer a more pliable president in the strategically important island of Tropico!
