Description

'I have such a headache!' For many of us, this cry is something of a mantra. This book is welcome relief to the millions who struggle daily with headache pain. It develops trigger point therapy into an effective self-care approach to headache pain relief. Trigger points are areas of cells in the muscle that are locked in a dysfunctional cycle. Blood flow to these areas is reduced and metabolic wastes are not being exchanged for oxygen and nutrients. When enough trigger points are located together, they form palpable knots in the tissue. Trigger points can cause pain, either directly or by referral to other areas of the body. Clearing trigger points can be easily done with gentle, sweeping massage and pressure applied to affected areas. Relief can be instant. This book explains trigger point theory and then offers a complete program for self care that includes clear illustrations of all techniques.
