Well, to be honest, I didn't really expect such a good read, it seems to be the rarity for me that I find a book that I enjoy based around a film rather than vice versa, however, this book is indeed the rarity, it starts off rather slowly, and, although it never dates itself, we are led to believe that from the outset of this book, it is set in 1969, just as the first Apollo mission is bound for the moon.

Foster provides us with what can only be described as a gripping glimpse into the new Transformers universe, and provides us with a rather excellent back story as to how Megatron got to Earth and how the other Transformers found us, this book is written extraordinarily well, for what it is.

It took me all of 2 days light (well, by my definition of the word anyway) reading to finish this, so, it's not exactly an epic tale, even though it seems that way, and for any Transformers fan; it is well worth a look!

For years we have waited...finally, the day is nigh: Autobots vs Decepticons on the big screen! The live action "Transformers" movie from director Michael Bay ("The Rock", "Armageddon") and executive producer Steven Spielberg is on its way! But before the film hits our screens, eager fans can snap up this official prequel novel. Before their conflict on Earth, there is much more to the story of the Autobots and Decepticons: Dueling alien races who battle for an object that could mean the destruction or salvation of their existence. Available way before the movie release, this novel is essential reading for fans who want the full story that leads into the action on screen!
