Alligator Records is proud and excited to introduce Lindsay Beaver, a blues-rocking, soul-singing drummer, songwriter and bandleader. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and front-person for Toronto’s acclaimed Lindsay Beaver & The 24th Street Wailers, she now resides in Austin, Texas. A uniquely talented musical spitfre, Lindsay is a jazz-trained drummer and a classically-trained vocalist, writing and performing raw R&B, blues and old-school rock ‘n’ roll songs with punk rock fervor. Tough As Love is a refreshing slap across the face of roots music. Lindsay Beaver lives to play live and has toured extensively throughout Canada with the 24th Street Wailers. This past spring she played a 17-day, 22-show tour throughout Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as nine shows in Spain in July. Canadian performances in support of the new release begin November 15th with performances in the Western provinces, hitting British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Tough As Love dates will continue throughout 2019, including spring and summer shows in the Eastern Canadian provinces. Tough As Love will be serviced and promoted for regular rotation airplay and blues and roots music shows in Canada, Europe, UK, Australia and with various internet music programmers around the world. Tough As Love explodes with Beaver’s volcanic singing, deeply soulful delivery and powerful chops on seven original songs and a handful of vintage roots gems. With a tight-rocking band of Austin aces behind her, Lindsay leads the proceedings with a potent combination of electric urgency and emotional intensity. Guest appearances from Marcia Ball, Dennis Gruenling, Sax Gordon, Laura Chavez and Austin legend Eve Monsees.
