Sit back and relax in your beautiful nursery, knowing that your baby is safe and sound.
All TouchWood 4-in-1 Cots are easily transformed from bassinet, to a safe
cot, child’s first bed or 2-seater sofa. TouchWood Cots are also available
with an optional cot
drawer with metal runners, a great storage solution that utilises the space
beneath the cot.
Our design team refuse to compromise on safety. All TouchWood Cot models have been tested and approved to meet and exceed the Australian/New Zealand Safety Standards 2172, making TouchWood cots some of the safest on the market.
So, if peace of mind is important to you, choose a TouchWood. That way, not only will your baby be able to sleep better at night – but you will too.
safety standards
Does the cot you like comply with the current Safety Standards? Does it have
any
Standards Certification Mark?
THE MATTRESS BASE
The most important parts of any cot are those you can’t see – like the
mattress base:
- Compare the construction of the mattress base, and the size of the timber used to other makes and models.
- Check the distance between the slats and the number of slats used (the more slats the better).
- Look for a centre support beam joining all the slats together.
- Look for a double bolting system, which gives added strength to each corner of the cot.
VERTICAL BARS
Compare the way the vertical bars are positioned. All TouchWood cots have
vertical bars individually dowelled for added strength.
DROP-SIDE MECHANISM
The drop-side mechanism is totally unique to TouchWood.
We firmly believe in using a drop-side that needs to be lowered with two hands,
because it is safer than the common one-handed version. It cannot be lowered by
shaking from the inside of the cot or by another child pulling from the outside.
When you have picked up your baby from the cot, we suggest that you leave the
drop side in the lower position, so that when it comes time to put your baby
back, the drop side is already down.
