Tomb Raider (PS3 Essentials) reviews

Tomb Raider seems to combine great parts of over games and moulds them well into a great game. Graphics look great and has a good mix of combat and exploring. Especialy love the Tombs.

This would be the best game I've ever had the pleasure to play, I've had hundreds of games over the years, and none compare. The combat is fantastic, allowing you to play as you like, stealthy or guns blazing or a mix of both. The graphics are unparalleled beautiful and gritty, incredible realistic. Lara is an extremely relatable character, she is a real person and seeing her transformation is awesome. The story is simple but good, fits the game fantastically. If your thinking about buying this game, then buy this game. If your not, then you should buy it any way, because its just that good.

The gameplay in this game is fantastic the visual effects and sounds is just amazing Although multiplayer does have its downfalls Id give it a 10/10

The gameplay in this reboot is very different from other tomb raider games but is still very fun. The story and gameplay is epic, I found it hard to put down. The muiltplayer can be fun but does have a few problems. Over all a 9/10

The puzzles are a bit to easy, but a great origins story!

While this was a fun action game it did NOT feel like a Tomb Raider and I have loved the series from the first PS1 outing, it felt like they tried to do an Uncharted feel too it which works great for Nathan Drake with the more comedy side of those games, it now comes too she's falling again why- The tombs are optional, it's Uncharted again with battle after battle after battle. So if your up for a fun action game this is for you, if you want a great Tomb Raider game you could be disappointed so try not too judge this by the earlier great Tomb Raider games in the series

I have played all the games from Tomb Raider 1 on Ps1 and this game didn't fail to satisfy, great acting & storyline also. This game has a good level of replay value once the story is completed, as the devs allow you to re-enter the world for unfinished challenges etc on completion. The online multiplayer is also good, better than others I have tried in a similar style. Overall a great game for die hard Tomb Raider fans & first timers alike

Old characters you love (finally wearing long pants), with new amazing graphics and awesome gameplay

Great story, tactile and enjoyable gameplay, unfortunate that when it's all over, it really is all over. Replay value is minimal, but collectibles and artifacts can be fascinating to find for the exploratory type.

A lot like the Uncharted trilogy, but with a hot English girl, wearing incredibly impractical clothes instead of an incredibly cheesy, American, hero-type dude, doing the impossible. So pretty much the same game, but with improved everything: a slightly darker story and feel, more violent game-play and not so many attempts to create puzzles or anything. Best part by far, is the way that the levels are created to let you truly choose your own path as well as replay the game – without having to replay the exact same game, if you know what I mean.

I really loved the smooth transaction between story-play and gameplay. I wish all games would have structure like this. Really looking forward to next game.

A really polished looking game, fast paced and intuitive to play. Fresh look at the francise that still does credit to the older games… Not a kids game, she gets impaled, shot, slashed, crushed maimed….um quite a bit.

Totally worth buying, AAA++++.

Here is another well put together story with great work done on the characters and plot. The maps are pretty good too and love the upgrade feature which allows you to choose the weapons and skills you upgrade and when you upgrade them. A must have game for any Tomb Raider fan!

After not playing any previous Tomb Raider games, and hearing that this one was great from other MA reviews, I decided to give it a go.

I wasn't disappointed. It has a great storyline, and in game action. The controls and graphics were perfect, along with most aspects of the game.

Possibly one of the finest opening sequences in any game that I have played. Tomb Raider gets your attention from the get go and continues to thrill you from that point on. Like any good hollywood production, just when you feel like you are going to get a break, another twist throws you right back into the thick of it. The control is fantastic and without a word of a lie, I would be impressed with anyone who makes it through the whole game without dying a few times. If you're after a game that you can really lose yourself in, this one will not disappoint.

Great game if you want an edge-of-your-seat thriller. When the action lets down the mood sucks you in. Only 2 hrs into the game and my hands are still shaking. Lara Croft at her finest (metaphorically) =)

With a full time job and two kids (3 and 4yo) i have very little time for my games… However this one I just could not put down, there simply are no gaps between the action, had me sitting up to the early hours night after night until the end… Story was great, seeing Lara grow into that cold hard chick we all know and love was realisticly heart breaking and exciting to play through… Any one who ever plaied a tomb raider game MUST play this!

Very very good game. I always enjoyed the Tomb Raider series but felt the last couple of games lost there way. This reboot is simply stunning. Great story beautiful visuals and intuitive gameplay. I've not played the multiplayer yet but would have happily full price for the single player campaign alone. In praise of mighty ape I live in a rural South Island area and this game arrived the day after I ordered it. Awsome service!
