This tome is culled from the diary columns what Shields and Ken Smith wrote together five days a week at "The Herald". This was before Pepys the Elder left to embark on a glittering career as a freelance writer, leaving the column in the capable hands of the talented-ish, young-ish, handsome Mr Smith.
