Description

Written as a collection of letters from the author to today's twenty- and thirtysomethings, this reflective memoir is an inspiring and persuasive work offering grandfatherly advice and encouragement to help young people learn how and why to take jobs seriously as they enter adulthood. While there are many books about the current issue of arrested adulthood and young people's failure to launch, there are few books that are written directly to this audience. To Jonah, When You Are Twenty-Five offers novice adults a kindly compass into the work life that awaits them and into the adult world in general. The book's unique format fits easily into busy schedules: you can read one letter at a time or finish them all in one sitting. Throughout the book, the author-like the best of grandfathers-plays the roles of your coach, teacher, historian, sage, favorite storyteller, and biggest fan. An insightful read no matter what life stage you're in, this book is a particularly great gift for young people, and it will certainly be one they return to again and again for insight and encouragement as they face the sometimes daunting years ahead.
