I have just finished playing the demo of this game that come on the cover of the latest OXM. To put it in very academic and professional terms, this game fricken rocks!!! Having said that, there are certain qualities I like in a FPS that veer from the mainstream – for example, I much prefer FEAR to HALO (both graphically and gameplay-wise), especially in Multiplayer. TIMESHIFT is, graphically, a little like mixing GOW with FEAR, and I like that mix. Great premise for the story, great look and effects, great weapons and REALLY nifty trick with the ability to manipulate time … it's fun to freeze time, wander up to an enemy that hiding behind a crate, tap two into his skull, then walk on, releasing the freeze as you go. POW. Blood, chunks … you get the idea.
From the demo and what I've read online, I think I could reccomend this game wholeheartedly to any FPS aficionados.
