Description

Excerpt from The Zurich Letters, or the Correspondence of Several English Bishops From the additional letters obtained by Mr Pears, a second series or volume was published, completing the correspondence of the English Reformers and others during the reign of Elizabeth, from the sources above mentioned; thereby supplying many of the chasms in the chronological arrangement of the preceding volume. And as it appeared desirable to afford facilities for a consecutive perusal of the entire series, the Council of the Parker Society, in compliance with a wish expressed by many of its members, have reprinted, in the present volume, the English translation of the original letters, with the exception of a few which bear no refer ence to the English Reformation. The whole collection is now presented in proper chronological order; and a reference is given, at the heading of each, to its position in the previous volumes, A. Signifying the first series, B. The second. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
