Description

Now in its fourth edition, The World Cup: The Complete History, is the only book to give a truly encyclopedic guide to the greatest football show on earth. Fully revised and updated in time for the 2014 finals in Brazil, the book is renowned for its remarkable comprehensiveness. Featuring a separate chapter for every competition; every single result of every match; every single player in every team; all qualifying details; and a detailed round-up of the entire progress of each tournament, it is an indispensable addition to every football fan's bookshelf. For this new edition there is a completely new chapter on the 2010 tournament in South Africa, where co-author James Corbett reported on the scene, and also a further section detailing all the results in the qualifying phase for the 2014 finals. The World Cup represents the pinnacle of the planet's number one sport. More widely viewed, more widely contested, richer than ever before, interest, as ever, will be massive. There can be no more comprehensive or reasonably-priced companion to this feast of football.
