Description

An essential style guide for the elegant bride, to help her find the best line of dress to suit her figure. Whether she wants to buy off-the peg or visit a designer for a couture made-to-measure gown, this book will show at a glance the main styles there are to choose from, and which will flatter her. Each chapter features a classic line (Empire Line, Princess Line, Ballgown, etc.) and explains what body shape it suits, which fabrics it works best with, the era it hails from and, of course, which famous brides wore the style. The type of wedding it is suitable for, and what kind of bouquet, headdress or veil suit it best are also covered. Subsequent chapters also look at sleeves, necklines and accessories. Every style is illustrated in its basic form with a striking artwork by Camilla Dixon and followed with inspirational photographs of the dresses in action. Featuring famous faces, modern brides, vintage classics and a wide range of dress designers, the photographs show what can be done with the basic shape - from classic simplicity to daring flights of fancy. This is the ultimate source of dress and accessory ideas and will make a wonderful engagement gift.
