Two's Company. Three's a Crowd. Four's a Disaster. Laurence (Joseph Fiennes), at a marathon session with his friendly, neighbourhood psychiatrist Dr. Pederer (Ray Winstone), whom he has just met, recounts the story of the last three days of his life and that of his two greatest childhood friends Frank (Rufus Sewell) and Daniel (Tom Hollander). Apparently, all three friends had met, independently at different times, and seemingly fallen in love with the same American tourist, Martha (Monica Potter), during a mad, frenetic twenty-four hour period in London! At the end of the story Laurence has a very important decision to make which will affect the rest of his life. What will he decide to do about Martha and his friends? More importantly which, if any, of the three friends will Martha choose?
