Description

A recent study from Harvard substantiated that writing about our emotions may ease stress and trauma1. Living with diabetes is a full-time, 24 x 7 job with no vacations and is a lot more complicated than math to figure out an insulin dose. People living with diabetes are more 20% more at risk for anxiety and 2 to 4 times more likely to have depression. The Top Diabetes Topics for People Living with Diabetes provides space for journaling each day. It also provides a series of important questions and topics ranging from things that make you happy to questions you have about diabetes to things you can do when things are going the way you would like them to go. Our series of journals, Top Topics, is a 3-part series allowing every member of the family to write about their emotions focusing on successes and challenges. Journals are available for the person living with diabetes, for siblings, and care givers. The journals have many similarities allowing for the entire family to engage in the dialog. For best results - use crayon, colored pencils, or gel pens with the journal. Author Biography:

After an 18-year career in tech, Brenda Hunter left her job to focus on helping people living with Type 1 Diabetes. Brenda launched No Small Voice which is a nonprofit focused on taking action from insights and research to make life easier for people living with diabetes. Much of the research and tools to date are focused on helping families work through challenges they are experiencing with insurance. One benefit of having a small nonprofit is engaging the entire family in the effort to help improve the lives of people living with diabetes. Our family recognized the gap in emotional support. Top Topics was a project that the entire family supported. Each family member had a role in the launch. We were pleased to release the first version in celebration of our Diaversary!
