Description

This engaging and accessible book explains the scientific principles behind guns, both ancient and modern. Further, the book provides insight into the science of terminal ballistics and wound ballistics as well as the challenging subject of gun control. It is full of interesting facts for all who are curious about the science and history of guns, as well as those for whom the gun is an accessory of their profession.

Author Biography:

Paul J. Hazell is a Professor of Impact Dynamics at UNSW Canberra, Australia. Paul is a mechanical engineer and studies collisions  — whether they are due to a mobile phone falling to the ground, or a bullet striking an armour plate. He currently operates the fastest gun in the Southern Hemisphere with a two-stage gun that can fire projectiles to 4.5 km/s.
