"Still has a lot of its charm and worth the price."

I have played every settlers since they started the game line and this one is a little easier, but no less fun a great start place if you are a new player wanting to see what the older games are going on about. They have fixed all the old bugs that I could remember and it now supports all the monitor resolution that I would expect so enjoy a trip down memory lane :)

"Very disappointing"

What a pity that this game has been ‘dumbed down’ rather than merely updating with the latest systems. I will continue to play the old version on XP.

To this day, I still have problems working out what buttons do what ........ But do enjoy playing when I get it right.

Plays just like the original, with a few added improvements. The graphics are a great improvement.

We have all enjoyed playing the previous settlers games and this is another good one!

Unfortunate to say that this is a common budget-ware game to find in the US so it feels a bit cheeky to have to pay so much for it on our side of the world however I highly encourage anyone who has liked games involving building towns, managing economy's and utilizing armies to take down rival civilzations to pick up this version of Settlers II.

You can find Settlers II for $10 on GoG however that is the original 90's version and the graphical and 3D updates to this title in 10th Anniversary Edition are well worth paying the extra for.

I can only compare this game to the Anno series however it doesn't have as much focus on naval trading as Anno although you do build ships and sail between continents from time to time.

I should also note for anyone using Google to try to find out how you can rotate your structures in this game – You can't. The hidden mouse wheel plus Ctrl combonation in other Settler releases doesn't even work but the roading system is still highly easy to manage if you understand flag placement and allow the computer to auto build your roads between them.

Finally, Ubisoft, for some reason, seems to have wiped all other Settlers incarnations off the face of the earth in hopes of selling Settlers 7 but if you're not into MMO's or you're using an older computer, the latest Settlers release isn't practical and this is about your only other alternative.

A good game for 7–10 year olds or anyone who enjoys stratery games.
