The Role of the Church in a Decaying World A Practical View There are many books that are written that deal exhaustively with the subject of Ecclesiology, or the Doctrine of the Church. This book is not intended to handle such matter. It is instead intended to address the Church's responsibility in today's society while maintaining its focus on its mission of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. It will address such matters as marriage and divorce, sexual promiscuity, wars, racism, abortion as well as a host of other socially related topics. In a society where human beings are getting less and less interested in matters of a religious nature partially due to the prevailing perceptions of the Church, the author takes a critical look at some of the things the Church must do to ensure that it is meeting its objectives of "making disciples of all nations through the gospel" while striving to improve the social condition of humanity in general. The author made no attempt to avoid controversial issues and at the end remained true to what the scripture had to say on each matter. Where scripture is not explicit, the author draws from exegesis, logics and experience in arriving at his conclusions. Rev. Dr. Manasseh L. Bewry (B.Sc., Th .M., Th .D.) is the co-founder of Bethel Deliverance Temple and is the founder of the Bethel Family Ministries (Internet and Tract Ministry). Some of his works include, Is There a Place Called Hell, To Believe or Not to Believe That is the Question, The Race to Everywhere but Anywhere and Coming to Christ Through the Truth.
