This book covers a range of topics from the geography and science schemes of work at key stage 2 and 3. The book focuses on the how different rock types are formed and how they are acted upon by weathering and erosion. The book also looks at how rocks provide a habitat for plants and animals and considers the consequences of human activity, such as quarrying and tourism. Throughout the book, focus panels look in detail at aspects of the rock cycle and investigative panels encourage further research.

Author Biography

Sally Morgan is an environmental biologist, and chief examiner for A-level biology for a major examining board. She is an experienced author of books for young children. She has been a science teacher and is now a professional photographer and writer.
