Description

Cat behavior is no longer a mystery with this handy guide to feline friendships. What does it mean when your cat hides in the laundry basket or wags her tail at you? What about when she kneads your leg or dilates her pupils? The Purrfect Guide to Thinking Like a Cat gets right to the point and explains the meaning of your cat's behavior in a straightforward manner. The book contains sections devoted to reading your cat's body language, how to create a comfortable home environment, medical issues, socializing your cat with other animals, and more.

Author Biography

Emma Milne qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Bristol University, England, in 1996 and is best known for her appearances on the UK television program Vets in Practice. She has since appeared in numerous television and radio programs about wildlife and animal welfare. Milne has written several books on animal welfare, and her series of five children's pet care books, The Pet Detective Series, teaches children that it's as important for pets to be happy as to be healthy. She now lives in France. Karen Wild is a full-time, qualified UK dog trainer and behavior consultant with more than seventeen years of experience. She has an honors degree and diploma in Psychology from the University of Nottingham, is a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors, and is an Associate Member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers. Karen deals with dog behavior problems in a family-oriented, practical way. Her experience includes class teaching, obedience, flyball, agility, and more. She formed her company Pawprint for behavioral consultations and training, and Intellidogs which specializes in online advice. Her passion is creating and rebuilding the "enjoyment factor" that can come from pet dog ownership. Karen's work with dogs and young people includes her program to bring more dogs into schools in the UK, as well as a focus on children and safety around dogs. She is a regular contributor to Dogs Today magazine and a blogger for Dr. Ian Dunbar's revolutionary Web site, Dog Star Daily.
