Description

This holiday season, be thankful you're not in Paige Parker's shoes... Paige Parker has had more than her share of supernatural adventure since moving to the rural village of Heather Hollow, Rhode Island. She lives in a haunted house, and vampires, ghosts, and time travel have all become ordinary aspects of her life. So when she's invited to spend Thanksgiving weekend at Cody Brown's family vacation home in the seaside city of Newport, Paige is more than happy to accept. She's ready for a fun, relaxing weekend with Gabe, Amelia, and other friends. Of course, nothing in Paige's life is ever that simple. Cody's vacation home is actually an infamous castle, and Paige quickly finds herself embroiled in another mystery. There's a ghost ship and the legend of a girl lost at sea, romantic triangles past and present, a secret crypt, pirate lore, and a pair of attack dogs that make the Hounds of Hell look tame. Just when Paige thinks things can't get any more bizarre, mean girl Heather Duffy comes to her... for help with a haunting of her own. Can Paige solve her most challenging mystery yet, or will she find herself in mortal danger amidst the bleakest chapters of local maritime history?

Author Biography:

Karen Chilton is terrible at math. She was warned that this would be the case, as she spent most math classes hiding out at the back of the classroom, scribbling fiction. If a train leaves Boston at 10 a.m. traveling west at 100 mph and another train leaves Chicago at 11 a.m. traveling east at 80 mph, at what point will they pass one another? Karen sometimes wishes she knew. Karen is the author of the Ghost Girls Books series of young adult novels, including The Haunting on Devil's Den Road, The Ghost at Widower's Pond, and The Phantom Ship at Castle Hill. She also teaches writing and visits schools to promote literacy and foster an interest in history. Karen lives in Rhode Island with her best friend Andrew, her son Ryan, a dog named Harry, another dog named Kimba, and a cat named Godzilla. Karen still enjoys scribbling fiction, especially now that she gets paid to do it, instead of getting in trouble. She is grateful her cell phone has a calculator.
