The Passion for Liberty by Tibor R Machan
Sorry, this product is not currently available to order

Here, Tibor Machan defends a libertarian conception of a free society, one in which negative rights - rights not to be interfered with in peaceful pursuits - are identified and protected. In the tradition of John Locke, Adam Smith, Ayn Rand and Robert Nozick, Machan argues that such a society is the best possible ideal for humans and that this ideal is deserving of everyone's passionate support. In doing so, he addresses specific issues such as affirmative action, abortion, military intervention and torture in light of the relationship between liberty and democracy.
