The RV-6 is a fast, nimble, aerobatic two-seat airplane that is assembled from a kit sold by Vans Aircraft. If it is not the most successful kit plane ever, it has to be very close to it. They are popular for their incredibly fun flight characteristics and their relatively low cost. Thousands have been built by talented folks who are as passionate about building planes as I am about flying them. I could never build one myself, so I did the next best thing: I bought one that was already built. Thus began nearly a decade of immensely satisfying flying. This book attempts to share the excitement and enjoyment of taking short trips to interesting places or to do interesting things. Through these pages, you can ride along as I attempt to learn to fly in formation with other airplanes, visit Chicago in a search for authentic hot Chinese mustard, struggle with learning how to takeoff and land an airplane with the 3rd wheel on the wrong end of the airplane, and share wonderful memories of flying with my daughter as she grew up. The book is not laden with esoteric piloting gibberish, but it is chock full of what I hope are compelling and humorous stories. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed experiencing it.
