It is illustrated by original paintings and archival materials.

Author Biography

Hugh Brewster is the author of other nonfiction picture books such as Anastasia's Album and Inside the Titanic. He lives in Toronto. Eric Velasquez was born in Harlem and grew up in an Afro-Puerto Rican family that gave him a rich and unique cultural perspective. He lives in New York State.
