It is always hard to hold the children's interest after the town schools close, and this year the State Board came later than usual. The week given up to celebrating Indiana's Centennial had intensified the longing for vacation and freedom and when we consider the effect of three contagious diseases, mumps, measles, and scarlet fever, which di minished the school nearly one half.
