Many ages ago, a curse was placed on the MacBraedon clan - each laird must marry a Forsy the woman, or their fortune will diminish and the lands will suffer. Gabriel is his clan's only hope for salvation. The chosen bride of the last laird ran off with an Englishman and now it is her daughter who appears to be meant for Gabriel. But Catherine knows nothing of her Scottish heritage, and certainly wouldn't be interested in an impoverished lord from the Highlands.
