The editor of this work argues that the contemporary American political scene is increasingly driven by populist demands. This is the only book on American Politics which outlines this trend. Author Biography:

KARL G. TRAUTMAN is Instructor of Political Science at Lansing Community College and Washtenaw Community College. He received a Ph.D in political science from the University of Hawaii in 1992. He has been a candidate for state representative in New Hampshire, a research assistant for Meet the Press, and has taught political science in Massachusetts, Hawaii, Kansas, Connecticut and Michigan.
