Author Biography:

John Sutherland is Emeritus Lord Northcliffe Professor of Modern English Literature at University College London. Author, critic, chair of the Booker Prize judges, newspaper columnist: John Sutherland is one of the leading literary scholars of his day. He is the author of the tremendously successful series on puzzles in Victorian Fiction, beginning with "Is Heathcliff a Murderer?" His many other books include "The Who Loved Books, How to Read a Novel, "and "Stephen Spender: The Authorised Biography".
