Fought was a United Methodist pastor in Kentucky and Ohio for 44 years and district superintendent for six years. He was married to Wilma for 53 years, until her death in 2000. They had 4 children: Tim, Dan, Steve, and Marilyn, and 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
