The Little Mermaid, the 1989 animated Walt Disney classic featuring Ariel, the mermaid princess.

All the music, fun and adventure under the sea resurface in this magical, fully restored edition of Disney's 28th animated Classic. Groundbreaking animation, colourful characters and an Oscar winning song and score make THE LITTLE MERMAID even more popular today than the day she first splashed on screen!

Ariel, the fun-loving and mischievous mermaid, lives in an underwater paradise with her father King Triton, and is enchanted with life about the sea – even more so after saving a handsome prince from drowning! Against the advice of her best friend Flounder and the hilarious reggae-singing crab Sebastian, Ariel strikes a deal with the sea witch Ursula. In exchange for her beautiful voice, Ariel will become part of the human world. But what seems a dream come true becomes a heated race against time in which Ariel must win the prince's love and save her father's kingdom.

With its enchanted sound quality and breathtaking imagery, this tale of pure Disney magic can finally be experienced like never before.

The Little Mermaid Reviews

“With The Little Mermaid, a near-lost art was revived. Disney studios produced some good animated features after Walt Disney's death in 1966, but not truly great ones. The Little Mermaid marked a return to the greatness that Disney was once noted for and increased the frequency of their production of such films to boot. This film, loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, is about Ariel, a mermaid who longs to interact with the world on land and a prince who comes in to brief contact with her, falling in love on the spot. Her father is fearful for Ariel and has Sebastian, the famous Jamaican crab, look after her. Sebastian is blessed with not only a host of memorable lines but the two best songs, one a toe-tapping good time and the other a beautiful melodious love song. Plotwise, the story is a little contrived, but this is a fairy tale after all – and the characters, dialogue, and songs couldn't be more fun. The music, in fact, is arguably the most fun score Disney has ever come up with.” At a Glance Film Reviews

“…The animation in The Little Mermaid isn't quite as accomplished or eye-popping as that of its successors, but it's still impressive, and hurried or unfinished cels are almost impossible to spot. What the film does expertly is to weave together music, likable protagonists, thoroughly nasty villains, and a fun plot into a cohesive whole, with a result that is nothing short of magical. And, although The Little Mermaid isn't among Disney's most "mature” animated movies, it offers enough entertainment, innocent romance, and low-key humor to keep adults involved. Children, of course, will love it." Reelviews
