The drama series is based on the novel of the same name written by John le Carré and follows the life of Charlie, a young English actress who, in 1979, is recruited as a spy by Martin Kurtz, an Israeli intelligence agent, and given the mission to help in locating and killing Khalil, a Palestinian terrorist. In Series 1, Charlie finds herself used as a pawn in a big game of espionage, but ends up being a danger to all sides involved when she starts sympathizing with the people she's supposed to neutralize.
***Critic Reviews For The Little Drummer Girl: Miniseriesitic ***
- " All these psychosexual, world-building spy games take up the first half of the series, which I realized as I was scarfing it like popcorn reminded me of nothing so much as the first two seasons of Homeland. Don't run away! " – Willa Paskin , Slate
- *" From start to finish, it's like a very expanded episode of Mission: Impossible. And I mean that as a compliment. " * – David Bianculli , NPR
