Description

This book is the story of one man and his family's lifetime efforts to come to the United States to try and obtain his version of the American Dream. The story really reflects the similar struggles of American immigrants throughout the years, as it is worth noting that we have close to two hundred million immigrants, including their families and close friends, in America today. When you read this book, if you are one of these people, this story will ring true to you; it may also bring back fond memories and enable you to relate to the legal immigrants in today's America. This story could be told over and over many times by lots of American immigrants, and will continue to be told in the years to come. We must try to put this in perspective: Immigrants have been the cornerstones and building blocks of this country for a couple hundred years. We must not forget the ones that readily come to mind in the entertainment business, like Charlie Chaplin, Cary Grant, Errol Flynn, Anthony Hopkins, Liam Neeson, and hundreds of others who have been idolized and greatly appreciated by most Americans. We then have immigrants who played big parts in the technical endeavors of America's past, such as helping to put men on the moon, and medical achievements. But most important of all are the ones who served in America's many conflicts and gave their lives to keep America safe and sound. Many of us who came to the United States were prepared to help in any way possible, including serving in the military, which several did. When I decided to come to the United States, it was to provide my family with a better life. Indeed, that is what it turned out to be.
