Description

Upon waking one morning, the ladybug sisters Penelope and Priscilla are complaining about eating the same old bug mites and Momma Ladybug reinforces the "Ladybug Duty" of why they must rid the garden of the bad bug mites so that people can have nice, beautiful gardens. Their mother encourages them to use their imagination to create a feast and it would not be like eating bug mites at all. As they fly to the garden, they find that they can have an exciting, fun-filled day using their imagination. This short story will remind children that creating their own imaginary play can be lots of fun.

Author Biography:

Theresa Gonzales was a stay at home mother of two children. Amy, who was born with Down Syndrome and Aaron, who was born with dislocated hips and in a body cast for six months. Between doctors appointments, therapy sessions, and volunteering for the Arc, an organization whose mission is to advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, she needed an escape from the everyday turmoil, so she wrote stories to read to her children. The children went to school and Theresa went to work and the stories were tucked away. She now wants other children to enjoy the stories that she has waited over forty years to share. Theresa continues to be involved with the Arc of Jefferson, Clear Creek & Gilpin Counties in Colorado and served as a Board President. A portion of the books sold will be donated to the organization.
