Description

An outrageous and over-the-top journey that tears apart false mysticism and religious ideology. Funded by John Lennon, The Holy Mountain is a visual masterpiece, an iconic cult classic of surreal and bizarre imagery. A powerful group of individuals led by The Alchemist (played by Jodorowsky) undertake a quest for enlightenment that pits illusion against truth. A surreal flood of sacrilegious imagery and existential symbolism, The Holy Mountain created a scandal at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival.
