Description

The first and only guide to identifying and managing all major forms of addictionA frighteningly large percentage of the population struggles with some form of addiction. And no matter which of the many types it is-drugs, alcohol, gambling, food, spending, or sex, to name a few-each form of addiction eventually causes serious physical and emotional damage to the addict and everyone whose life he or she touches. In this latest volume in the critically acclaimed Healing Journey series, psychotherapists Phil Rich and Stuart Copans help readers to determine whether or not they are addicted and then guide them through the five stages of recovery, including awareness, consideration, exploring recovery, early recovery, and maintenance. Like all the books in the series, this Healing Journey was designed to work both as a stand-alone self-help book or in conjunction with professional treatment. Contains dozens of guided journal entries - Covers multiple approaches to recovery Phil Rich, EdD (Amherst, MA), is an experienced psychotherapist who has practiced for over twenty years. Stuart Copans, MD (Brattleboro, VT), is a child psychiatrist, Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School, and an attending physician at the Brattleboro Retreat.
