Jane Hawkins as a top American gymnast, failed to fulfil her Olympic destiny through injury and events. After twenty years in obscurity and a passionless marriage, she is secretly trying to get pregnant, against her husband’s wishes, and though she is still in peak condition, her doctor says she has waited too long to have children.
A chance meeting with her former team mate Denise, provokes her to re-examine her life. Jane is recognized by a coach, while visiting a gymnasium, and instantly propositioned to join the Cirque Du Soleil – a special style of aerial act – together with an enigmatic dancer named Serena. When events force the coach to abruptly leave the project, Jane and Serena decide to continue to stage the act themselves, and fall in love in the process. Denise convinces Jane that her feelings for Serena are a form of denial and that she must choose between having a child with her now-willing husband, or starting a completely new life.
