Author Biography:

Sax Rohmer was the pen name of Arthur Henry Sarsfield Ward (Feb. 15, 1883-June 1, 1959). Born in Birmingham, England, he initially worked as a civil servant before turning to writing. During his career he wrote numerous stories and novels, mostly in the thriller and supernatural mystery genres, and often featuring various Orientals as the villains. His most famous works were the series of novels about the insidious Dr. Fu Manchu which were to inspire a generation of movies, television and radio programs and adaptations in other media.
